Reception Committee.

A meeting of the Waimate Troopers Reception Committee was held yesterday afternoon in the Borough Council Chambers ; present Messrs Pitcaithly (chair). Scott, Mathias and CoUtnan. Mesdames Barclay, Adards and Wilson, and Misses Clapcott and Manchester. An apology was received from Mr John Manchester for non-attendance, owing to his having contracted a severe cold.

During the discussion, it was said that four troopers were coming buck to Waimate, but the number was not definitely known. It was decided to hold a reception at the railway station ami at the Council as before, and to ask tiro Mayor, Dr Barclay, and the Rev. J. Blight to speak. A social also would be held the same evening if possible. Further arrangements are to bo made at a mooting to bo held shortly.
