To-day bung an " off day," the yarding of all classes.ot stock was small, and the a-tendance very limited. The following arfc quotations : Sh- ep —Hie entry of store sheep was 1543, the bulk being wethers. . P. ices were alout equal to those of last week, sud although the yarding wasumatt, the supply equalled the demand, bidding being dull. A line • f 212 brough- 13s 6d and a grand line of 337 reached 15s 2d. Piic s for wethers ranged from 12s 6d to Ida 2 • ; store ewes sold a*. 7s 81 to 15s 91, but very few were penned. Lambs ranged from 9s 91 to 10s lOd, the quality being good; Lambs for freezing sold well at from 14s to 16s, one line of 127 realising .; 15s lOd, another of 182 selling at l6s lid, and 150 at 14s. Fat ewes wese eto.cky, even with the exceptionally Email market. Prict-s ranged from 10s 6d, Freezing wethers sold wel!, in sympathy with the London market, at fiom 17s 3d to 19s. Cattle.—There were, only eighty-six head of fat cattle yarded, principally heifers. All sold well, and,-in conse quence of the very small ya>di. g, the price obtained was (qyal to 245, against last week. Steers made £7 2 6d to £8 17s. 6d ; heifers, £5 5s to £9 10s. Store cattle were small in number, and prices ruled about the same as last sale. There was a light but very g 6d entry of d.iry stock,:one cow-reaching £9 2s 61. Pigs.—There was a moderate yarding, about 400 being penned. Owing to lack of competition, buyers obtained - the.lots at a considerable drop on late rams. Pigs which last week made 54s fell to 42s to 455, equal to a drop of $4 per lb. Other lines made equally low prices.
