- ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. [r.y TEiiKGUAPn]. Ch«i.stc!lltuch, June 19. There weie fair entries of stock in the yards and a good attendance. The rain nude matters rathei unpleasant, but the farmers welcomed the change, as the ground is too dry for farming operations. The entry of store sheep numbered 2313, the bulk being hoggets, for which there was a brisker demand than of late, and prices advanced fully Is per head. Other classes were mostly withdrawn. The following are quotations ; Sheep. —Hoggets made 9s 6d to 11s, the chief sales being 443 at 10s lid, 117 at 10s 7d, 284 at 10s Id, and 150 at 9s (id ; 83 wethers made 15s 6d, and 190 changed hands at T2s 9d. There was a medium of fat lambs, and, in sympathy with the London market, there was an improvement in values equal to about Is to Is 6d per head for prime quality. Freezers made 14s 3d to Ins, and up to 17s 3d for heavy weights; butchers’ ,oK 13s to 14s. “ Fat sheep were in fairly large supply, and the entry included some prime lines of freezing wethers. The market opened well, and a rise in values was anticipated. Cattle.—ln the fat cattle pens there weie 241 head entered, the bulk being fair to prime quality beef. The sale opened rather dull, but bidding afterwards improved, and last week’s prices were fully maintained. A hue of nine steers from Highficld station made T 9 5s to £ll, and six heif *rs £7 15s to £8 17s fid ; ton steers from Parnassus, £8 to £9 10s, and six heifers £7 15s to £8 10s; other steers brought £6 to £9 5s ; heifers. £5 to £7 10s, and cows £5 15s to £7 17s fid, equal to 18s to 21s and up to 22s fid for extra prime. Pigs.—There was a fairly large entry of pigs, hut all e l a?s' , s met with a dull sale, the coming holidays affecting the market. Baconers made 35s to 455, and up to 52s fid for extra heavy weights, equal to per lb ; porkers, 20s to 31s, equal to 3;}d to 81d per lb ; stored, 10s to 18s fid ; suckers and weaners, 3s to fis fid. LUBNBIDE MARKETS. Dunedin, June 19. C .tile —292 head yarded, prices ruling about the same as Lst week. Best bcllocks, £8 5s to £9 17s fid ; extra, to £ll ; medium. £7 to £8 ; beat cows and he fers, £6 to £7 17s fid ; medium, £4 15s to £5 17s fid. Sheep.—4o62 penned, prices ruling at about las? week’s rates. Best wethers, 16 1 fid to 18s 3d ; extra prime, 19s to 2ls fid ; medium, 14s t > 16s ; best ewes, 13a fid to 15s fid; me Hum, Us fid to 13s 3d. Lambs—ll4B penned, prices showing an advance of Is a head comp r-d with last week. Best lambs, 12s to 13s fid ; extra prime, 15s ; medium, 10h 3d to 11* 9d ; others, 7s t > 9» fid. Pign —A large yarding, 252 coining : oiward. The sale was rather dull for all classes ex -ept porkers and baconers.
