Reception Committee.
A meeting of the committee was held on Tuesday afternoon. His Worship the Mayor in the chair. There were also present Meadames Barclay, Adams, Mathias, Wilson, and Miss Clapcott, and Messrs Coltmen (secretary), Mathias, Scott, and Jackson.
The principal business was the passing of accounts. The receipts had been £-16 12s 6d, including £2l 0s 6d collected for medals, and after all expenses had been paid £l2 15a 6d remained to credit. The committee has decided to retain this in the meantime, with a view to assisting any similar project brought forward in future, when the other men uotnrn.
The secretary stated that there' were still twenty men from the Waimaie district in South Africa.
