Sydnet, May 21. Complaints of the surcharge of Ne# Zealand letters continue. The Deputy Postmaster-General state* that the correct amount of postage oii letters from New Zealand to Australia it twopence. His department was advisea by the New Zealand Post Office in Febru*ary last that instructions had been given to its officers to see that all letters posted in that colony to places in Australia were prepaid prior to their despatch. As, how* ever, such action was not taken in'respect to some letters, the surcharge was imposed* Regarding the statement that it wad understood that the New Zealand tJepar* l mfint would pay any deficient-postage id New Zealand letters for Australia, a& official intimation to that effect aa» &&9 received by the dejnrtnlenU
