On* Thnredayv thef Canterbury Farmers' Cb-opßrative Association conducted a very successful clearing sale of life' stock and ■farm implements on account o-f Mr P Simmons, Compstall. The stock was alt in ,good condition, and there was a good attendance of buyers, from both north and south of the dr.tiict. The'first pair offered by this horse, were pased in at 13Q guineas. • Apair of buggy horsss, three and four year olds, broken .to single and double harness, were sold to Mr K. Qairdner, of Gapes' Valley, for £SO; and Mr N. M. Orbell, of Waimate purchased another-* pair of three and fpurjjear oldc, by Agamemnon, and Cock of the Walk, respectively, for £SO. The well-known aiTe.Agamemnon, wad offered, but a satisfactoay offer was not obtained. The sale started about 1 o'clock, and wa3 concluded shortly after 4. Mr John Mandelland Mr G. It. M.
