Library Committee.

A meeting of the above wag held last night, there being- present Messrs W. M. Hamilton (chair), Dean, Scott, Mann, Wills, Smith, O’Connor and the Hey. Mckenzie Gibson.

The subcommittee reported having made all arrangements for the transfer of the section given by the Borough Council to the Committee.

The question of the annual meeting was then brought up. After discussion as to the most suitable date, it was resolved, on .the motion of Messrs Dean and Hcott, to hold the meeting on Tuesday, April 28rd. Concerning the amount of business to be left to this meeting, the Rev. McKenzie Gibson was .strongly in favour of the whole business of the future of the library being considered at the annual meeting. Members generally concurred, .and this being put as a motion, it was carried.

A desultory discussion took place as to the advisability of selling the building sites by tender, either in a block or in sections, but nothing was decided on, as. it was considered the matter was covered .by. the previous motion. The caretaker’s account was passed for payment and, after a vote of thanks to the chairman, the Committee adjourned,.
