WAIMATE STOCK SALE. A special sale of sheep was held at the Waimate County Sal-yards on Tu- sday, when there was both a smaller entry and a smaller attendance of buyers than usual. There have been so many sales at and around Waimate recently th-it this is hardly to be wondered at. The entry consisted of about 4000 sheep, the greater number of which were old ewes, and these met a dragging sale. Oood sound ewes sold well. The following are quotations : Fat ewes, 13s lid; 2-tooth three-quarter-bred ewes, 17s 6d; 4, 6 and 8-tooth three-quarter-bred ewes, 16s 6d ; sound mouthed three quarter-bred ewes, 14s 6d; full and f -iling mouthed ewes, 7s, 7s 3d, 7s sd, 83,8 a 7d, 9a Id, 9s 5d to 10s; medium store lambs, 11s 6d; cu.l lambs, 8s 2d. SALE OF NEW ZEALAND STOCK. Sydney, April 8. In connection with the Show a number of Ayrshire cattle were offered for sale on account of Mr John Grant, of Invercargili, and Mr Thomas Parker, of Dunedin. Mr Grant’s first prize cow. Pride, was sold for thirty-four guineas; Mr Parke’s second prize bull, Baden Powell, for thirty-three guineas.
