A Visit to the Ariadne.

On Sunday last a large concourse of people from Waimate and elsewhere assembled at the Waitakl to have a look over the Ariadne, which was wrecked there last week. All day long buggies, bicycles and horsemen were to be seen journeying in the direction of the late wreck, where some 200 people were assembled. The Ariadne stands high and dry on the beach, thus enabling visitors to get aboard, and several trophies were carried off, such as brackets and other cabin furnishings; and these will be kept, no doubt, by their owners as mementos of their visit to the wreck of the little pleasure yacht.
