Waimate School Sports

On March 23th, the combined ichools of South Canterbury will hold » sports meeting on the Caledonian Grounds, Timara. The events comprise running, jumping, variety and bicycle races, club, dumb-bell and wuiid drill competitions, and squad drill and physical competitions. The hVaimate school intend entering for as many events as possible, and, with the ■view of selecting representatives, sports will be held in Victoria Parle on Thursday next. The entries total something over a (Thousand, and as the ■children have been practising assiduously, some real good sport will be sien. A collection will bo taken at the gate to defray expenses.
