Melbourne, February 16. Mr Barton said that he favoured the citizen - soldier federal defence, and said that the people woujd have to support the Ministry in getting eight to eight and a half millions of revenue before they talked too loudly about freetrade and protection. - Sydney, February 16. The Federal Cabinet has authorised the issue o! the writs foe holding the Queensland Federal ejection on March 80th. The dates of the other colonies have not yet been fixed. February 17. It is probable that the Federal elections in vVeat Australia will be held on the same day as in Queensland, .and the other States on March 29th. i
