Birolay moved and Mr Allan seconded ; “Tnai in winding up the accounts arising out of the recent combined religious sendee, namely, the funeral obseipiies of her laic Majesty the Queen, the Mayor and Committee of Management take the opportunity to express tueir gr itidcatiou in view of the large multitude tint assembled, of die order and solemnity with which the send jo was held, au 1 of Die contribution made toward expenses and the proposed Victoria Memorial Chair at the hb-spual; also, in vi‘W of not a little gratuitous oil the part of various persons.” This was carried unanimously. Accounts amounting to AT were passed for payment, leaving To bs which, with the Covernm mt .subsidy, mikes £Lo Jos. This will be donated to the purchasing of an invalid chair tor tin. children’s ward at the Hospital. A vote of thanks to the Mayor concluded the ni'eting.
