The Selati Railway.
London, January 24. Last year judgment was given by the Brussels Court, in a criminal prosecution instituted by Br Leyds, the Transvaal representative in Europe, against Baron Oppenhsim. bis brother, aad four other persons in connection with the promotion of a scheme of the Selati Railway Company in Belgium, to build the Selati Railway in the ‘Transvaal.
Two of the Oppenheims and their advocate, Henri Warnant, were found guilty, and sentenced to oae year’s imprisonment. Terwagne was sentenced to six ’months'' imprisonment and Louis Warnant and Braconnier ■wore acquitted. On appeal the Brussels Court confirmed the acquittal of Louis Warnant and Braconnier, but increased the sentence passed on Eugene Oppen heim to three years’ imprisonment. Henri Warnaut’s sentence to 18 months, and Tunvague’s term of imprisonment was increased to 12 months.
Robert Oppouheim is reported to be ill.
