MORVEN SCHOOL PICNIC.
TO THE EDITOR. , Sir, — The Morten (School prize-giv-ing haß passed, ap^J^Jj^ predecessors ! haa been disappointing; Iv my ' opinion it is not according to merit that ! the children get their prizes, but by being -favourites. It is very- dishtarfenin'g, fco children and parents ahko, to know that no matter how bard ouoy work some one more favomed will step ia and get the pr-z^s wb*»t}»*»r thny deserve them or not. From what I have seen of Morven School, no child has the least chance uniefea they belong to one of the committee. I don't know how the settbrs wlio, haye r been here some yeaes allow such doings, or what the comtnittee ia for. If it is to look after themselves ahdtheir children it is time there was a change. Trusting aome abler writer "will take the matter up. — I am etc. -
