BIG POLICEMEN.
The biggest man in the Victorian police force, and probably in the colonies (says a Melbourne writer), is Constable Kelly, formerly of Bendigo, but now stationed in Melbourne. From the large amoant of uniform he displays he has been referred to as the Blue Mountain. His weight is 22sfc 101b. The nest heaviest men in the Ipolice are senior Constable O'Callaghan, of Port Melbourne, who weighs 20st; and Constable Don, of Preston, jweight 19st 61b. WhUe Constable O'Callaghan was watch house keeper ho weighed nearly 23st, but since then beat duty has reduced his weight, Kelly, despite his great size, is quite lithe and athletic, and well able to hold its own at various exercises. It is a jfeo^offcen commented on that for sheer strength the best men to be found in the force are,. as a rule, 0! quite ordinary height and buiia.
