TEST FOR A WEAK MIND.
Two men in a cafe were discussing a gift by n noted millionaire of a large sum of money to feund a college chair of psychology. " What is psychology, anyway ?" asked one. " Ifc*s tha study of th© mind, of the soul, " said the other. " What's the good of that?" asked the scoptlo. - " A great deal of use, " answered his companion. "I hpve studied it to some extent myself, «,nd can deteot a weakminded man from a strong-minded one fay a vary Buuple test. For instance, if I can make you say " fourteen " against yoar will you lack wiU p^wer ? Will you let mo try it on you ? " " Make rae cay " fourteen " against my will ? You can't do it. Fire away ! " And tbis is the way the test woiked : A: "How much are six and four?" B ; " Ten." A : ",How much are eight and three ?" B : " Eie^en." A : " Hew much are nine and seven ?" B : " Sixteen." A (triumphantly) : " Aha I there you said it. I knew you would." B (indignantly) : "Said what?" A : " Sixteen." B: "But "fourteen" was the word \ye chose for the test." A (coolly) : " Well, you'v« said it now anyway."
