Tennis Club.

The annual meeting of the Wairaate Tennis Club was hold last ev-'iiin^, Mr . Pitcuthly presiding over a rathar small atcandanca. Mr Akhurst was nominated for the position of president and was unanimously elected. Ou taking the chair, he returned thanks and hoped he would perform the duties as well as the past president had. Mr Gourley was elected Vioopresident; Mr Laiug, Hon. Secretary ; Mr Pitcaithly, Hon. Treasurer ; Mesara Mdthitis, Hamilton, Coltman, Coltoaan, Douglas and Mckenzie Gibson, Committee. The Missea Hayes (2) and Wast and Messra Thomas, Clark and Gathrie were elected membor3 of the club. The subscription was fixed at the same as last year. Tho opening day was fixed for Thursday next, the same day as the Bowling Club hold 3 its opening day. Arrangements were made for afternoon tea.
