I The late Mr McLeod landed in I p ort Chalmers in 1862 in the ship jfolib. He came on to Station : &ak as shepherd, and after being there a year, he, in company with Mr Rupert Cameron, went to Otago. after another year, he entered the employ of the late Mr Michael Bfcudholnie as shepherd, a position he held f oy a number of years tttaming the position of head shep- *®&, which he ably occupied until *& left to enter on his own account, business he held till his death, w baying or selling stock, his could scarcely be exin New Zealand. Deceased took no prominent part in public but was ever ready to a3Bist deserving oause. Deceased never married. He had no demies, and his many friends throughout the Waimate district WI H deplore his loss.
