Dresden Piano Company.
We have to record the opening of one of Mr Maberiey'b new shops in Queen street, next to the 00-operative store, under very auspicious circumstances. The Dresden Piano Company, finding the accommodation quite insufficient where they were located, determined to secure one of the new shops, and opened it oa Saturday night with musical honours. There were quite a number of residents in, inspecting the number cf instruments which were arranged round the interior of the saop. There were evidently some -very nice pianos, and the organs are also higLly spoken of by those who have aeen them and heard them played. We understand there are a few more instruments coming forward for the sale, which had to be held back until the Company had secured a sufficiently commodious shop. The Company's representative informs us that the whole of the stock brought here must be sold daring the next few days, and judging by the pricey also the terms which can be arranged, we feel sure there will be no trouble in disposing of every instrument. The Company's representatives are well pleased with the amount of business done in Waimate during the past few days. We feel sure no better chance of securing a really good piano or organ has been available. The Company also make a liberal allowance on second-hand instruments taken in exchange, so that a good chance is given of getting rid of auy old piano, and having it replaced by an up-to-date instrument. The ten years' guarantee, which is given with every instrument, should be a great inducement in itself. We also observe a very nice set of Highland military bagpipes, which is for sale at a reduced price.
