O A special meeting of the Library I Committee whs held last evening in the Borough Council Chambers, the following members* being piesunt : Messrs Hamilton (chair- • man), Dean, Scott, Wills, Menziea and key. McKenzie Gibson. It was decided to ask the Fire Biiga'le for the use of the Fire Bdgade Station as a reading-room pro. tern. It was resolved to keep the lower end of the library section, facing on Victoria Terrace, containing 35ft x 12ft. for a right-of-way for a new library site, and |o sell the balance of the section iii four lots. Tl\e s\\e of th*» section was left ia the hands of the chairman and secretary to arrange. The question of building a new library and putting reserve prices on the sections for sale was held ov«r till h. future meeting.
