MAKIKIHI SALE,
Messrs Guinness and LeCren (per D. P. McLean, agent) report that at this sale .yesterday, the entriea comprised 1500 Bheep, 15 cattle, and 14 pigs. There was a stiong demand for good breeding ewes, and snoop of that class were cleared at auction at increased prices. Good Btore hoggets are also enquired for, but young ewes (in lamb) are most sought after. Sheep : 4 and 6 tooth £ bred wethers, very forward, 15s; 2, 4 and 6 toolh f bred weth«r», off turnips, condition only fair, 14s 6d ; 4 and 6 tooth crossbred ewes, in lamb to English Leicester rains, 17b 8d ; 4 and 6 tooth bied ewes, in lamb to English Leicester rams, 17s Id ; hoggets, rnodiuw to good, 20s Id to 12s 9d. Cattle : Fat cows, £4: to £5 7s 6d ; Bpringern, £Q 2s 6d. Pigs : Baconers, 88s ; weaners, 9s.
