From T. Garrard, secretary Jubilee Association, stating that His Worship tho Mayor 1 had be*n elected an honorary member of the Jubilee Com. nil tee. Cr. Sinclair thought the council should form themselves info a local committee. He moved in tha r direction, and Cr. Mann seconded it, and it was carried. It was decided to chip and alnnqh' t .c footpath leading from Queen street to the school. The} ate was formally fixed at Is in the $, to be paid by -Angtisr Bth, His Worship the Mayor and Councillors Mann and Philip to sign the rate book. Messrs Hamilton, Menzies and Eev. McKenzie Gibson waited upon the council as a deputation from the Libra.ty Committee re the selling of a part of the Library propdrty. Tha property being in
the name ef the Borough Council,, they asked them to undertake the sale. Councillors genially though! it would be a good thing for the council, as the money would pay ait; the overdraft and put the council in a good financial posi* tioii. It was resolved that the request of the deputation for the council to sell the Library pzo* perty bo accede 1 to. Prom ttv F. Hia Worphip the Mayor slated that he had eoramunicat3d with each of the councillors on the matter, and all had agreed that the grant be made, except Crs» ilann and fnkstar, who thought the xnonej should be spent lafchef on the children. £5 was voted to the Fire BriKtde for that purpose. The question of revising the by-laws wa<? discossed, and linally the whole Council was appointed A By-law Committee to revise the by» laws.
