London, May 24. The proposal to allow a provision foe appeals to the Privy Council by consent to be inserted in the Commonwealth. Bill, at Mr Chamberlain's request, the delegates consider would amount to political interference, and v/ould be impossible and unnecessary. The executive should only be empowered to asssnt to the transference of a disputed issue out uf the jurisdiction of the Hish Court to the Privy Council.
May 26. Speaking in the House of Commons, with regard to a petition of the Westralian goldfields for separation, Mr Chamberlain said that in view of the gradual enlargement of representation as provided in the He-distribution of Seats Ac*, he saw no reason to justify Imperial intervention.
Perth, May 25. Sir John Forrest intands to add a clause to the Federal "Referendum Enabling Bill providing for the vote of every man and woman who ■has been resident in the colony for twelve months.
