A BIG HAUL.
The Lyttelton Times says: — The detectives' office at the Police Station on Sunday presented tho appearance j of a shop, there being displayed a very miscellaneous collection of goods of all kinds, which had been found in the house of a woman woo was arrested by Deteciive Kill on Saturday afternoon on a charge of stealing from shops. "Upon her arres« a search was made of the house occupied by her in Willis Street, with the result that quite' di Tau load of good 3 was found, includ ing chinaware, delph, dolls, gloves, caps, towelling, boots, fur boas, fancy glassware, socks, enamelware, ladies' umbrellas, drapery, fancy handker chiefs, spoons, boys' sailor caps find hats, and a -doll's go-cart. Some of the goods have been identified as ' having been 6tolen from two shops in town, and the police invite shopkeepers to call at the station with a view of identifying any of the goods, which may have been -taken from their premises. The accused had only recently arrived from Dunedin, and the police are of opinion that some of the goods have come from that city. Among3t the goods are several spoons which bear the brand of the Union Steamship Company.
