London, May 20. A Bill, prepared by the Marquia of Lansdowne, enabling the volunteers to agree for service at home or abroad at any time, has been read a first time. Sydney, May 21.
The Daily Telegraph accuses the telegraph authorities -of furnishing the Government with a transcript of a press cablegram, and thus enabling the Government to announce the news of the relief of Mafeking before the newspapers. Acsording to the Telegraph, this is not the first time that important information has leaked out in this manner.
Melbourne, May 22. One Jhundred thousand bags of wheat have been booked foe India. Shipments will extend over three months.
Brisbane, May 29. The Agent-Gene>-ai wired that Colonel .Baden -Powell has been promoted .to the rank of MajorGeneral.
