The Bubonic Plague.

Adelaide, May H. The North German steamer, Gera, irom Sydney, has landed a fireman supposed to be affected by the plague.

Noumea, May 18. The plague has quit** disappeared. There has been no case either in the town or country for over a month. Nearly all the rats her© have been exterminated. Vessels from Australian ports land cargo at a special wharf. Passengers land immediately but must report for twelve days.

Sydney, May 11. Thirteen patients were discharged to-day. Very few persons are taking advantage of the new supply of prophylatic. Only 100 were inoculated to-day. The local representative of a big London firm, which conducts an extensive business in frozen produce from Sydney, received a cable not to send any more New South Wales produce. Wellington, May 12. ■ Owing to the difficulties connected with the bond system in the south the Colonial Secretary has decided to revert to quarantine for seven days from infected port.
