The Federal Delegation. London, May 11.
Mr Chamberlain, in a final memozandum, declared that the referendum had not indicated or qualified the ratification "of the Bill ' in every detail of the constitution and denied that the Privy Council was a court incapable of defence., He declared that the amendments' indicated no mist'-ust of the colonies. The Daily News says that the Australian people are behind the « delegates, it was idle, mischievous -and dangerous to 'try to thwart them ; if not, then the besisolution is to pass a new Appelate Bill con- > currently with the Commonwealth Bill, leaving the Federal Parliament 4o adopt a new court. ! The Westminster Gazette holds it to be dangerous for the Colonial Secretary to take a hand in Australian politics. The Imperial spirit is not always so strong there. Mr Barton, in an interview, said interference in international affairs -of the Commonwealth wa<? mischievous and meddlesome. Mr Chamberlain -was mainly relying on iae opinion of a defeated minority.
