HOW TO PACK. A book packet may be posted either "without a co\er (in which case it must a.ot be fastened in any way) or in a cover •entirely open at one or both ends. It may lie tied at thh ends with string, but the ■string must be easy to unfasten.
LIMITS OF SIZE AND WEIGHT. The limits of size for book-packets are ISin. in any direction. If made up in the '-form of a roll, a packet may measure up -to 2ft. 6in. in length and 4in. in diameter ; the weight must not exceed 4ib. PATTERN AND SAAfPIiK PACKLrS. All places, not exceeding 4oz, Id j ♦-every additional 2oz or fruction thereof, halfpenny.
magazines (not registered). All places except Queenbland, halfpenny jper 2oz or iraction thereof. Queensland, Id per 4oz or fraction . thereof.

NEWSPAPERB. Town and Inland, haltpenny each. Australia, except Queensland, and i South Sea Islands, Id each. All other places, including Queensland, Id each if not exceeding 4oz, and halfpenny additional for every succeeding -SJoz or fraction thereof. A newspaper mu?t not contain any •writing beyond the name and address oi *he addreßsee, the initials or name and .address of the sender, and any marks or aigna simply intended to call attention to passage in a text.

The post office is not, by law, respon.sibl for aay loss or inconvenience which -may aiiae from the non- delivery, mis- , sending or mis-delivery of any unregistered letter, or other postal packet, nor is it for any injury which a packet anay sustain during tranbmisbion. To .guard against their being injured, all postal packets which aie likely to sutler Srona stamping or from great pressure .•should be placed in stiong covers.
BEGISTKATION . The fee for ail places is 3d. The .•sender of a registered article may obtain An acknowledgement of its due receipt try -the addressee on payment, at the time 01 posting of the article, of an " acknowledgment fee" of twopence halfpenny, in addition to theordinaiy legistiation fee. Any letter, letter caid, post caid, book, /.or other packet, newspaper, or inland parcel will be accepted for regulation. Parcels for places beyond the colony cannot be registered.
