The Bubonic Plague.
Sydney, April 6. Nicholas is dead. Two fresh cases were reported to-day, a woman Dibley, of Redfern, and a boy named Yates, of the Sydney Hospital, who resided in Clarence street. The qnarantine area, which embraces Sussex, Kent, Erskine, and King streets has been cleansed and released. Two fresh eases of plague were reported to-day. Owing to quarantine restriction? the Union Company are rednsing the sailings from Sydnev^nd Melbourne to intervals of &m days. It is likely that if th'vS quarantine continues arrangements will be ma\le to keep one boat solely between, Auckland and Sydney. Thursday is to be proclaimed a day of special prayer and humiliation re the plague. The Archbishop has issued a special prayer 'to be read in the churches.
April 8. Sis fresh eases of plague were reported to-day. There wore five deaths., , Tho fresh cases to-day were Elizabeth Langford, Prince Alfred Hospital ; Mary Boshell, Fred Boshell, King Street ; Kennedy, Marrickville ; Mason, Paramatta ; Shaw, "Wooloomooloo. The following deaths have occurred :—Elizabeth Langford, Fred Boshell, Yates, Gaynor and Mabel Quinn. * The four cases of plague^reported to-day were; — Powell, of Waverley ; a boy naniad Smith, of "Redfern ; Mrs Mcßride, of Forost Lodge ; and 'one is unknown „ ' A girl named Rawlinson has died dn quarantine.
