Cattle.— There were 246 head yarded as against 236 for last week, notwithstanding that the quality of the beasts was distinctly ahead of that of last week, there was an all round drop of nearly ]f>s a head. Infcuor beasts also fell in piice, and butchers could hardly bepeisuaded to look at some of them. Messis D. Iteid and Co. obtained £8 2s 6d each for a pair of piime bullocks, but the average price did not lange higher thnn £5 5s to £6 15s. Lighter bullocks fetched from £2 10s to £4 ss. The highest price lealised for cows was £5 10s, the remainder fetching from £2 to £4 ss.
