Commercial. DUNEDIN MARKETS. (By Telegraph.) Dunedin, July 10.
Messrs Donald Reid and Co. repor* that prices ruled as under at their auction sale to-day : — Oats. — We submitted a few trucks, fair to good feed. Competition, except for prime lots, was- weak, aud nearly all medium quality was passed in. We quote prime milling Is 4jd to Is 54*, good to best feed Is 3d to Is 4d, inferior and medium Is Id to Is 2^d per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat. — Prime milling quality continues to meet with good enquiry, and all choice idts are readily sold" at quotation. Medium quality is not in request, but fowl wheat, if whole and sound, finds buyeis at quotation. We quote prime milling velvet 2s 5d to 2s 7cl, do. tuscan 2s 4d to 2s 6d, medium 2s Id to 2s 3d, fowl wheat, whole, Is lid to 2s, broken, etc., Is 6d to Is 9d per bushel (sacks in). Potatoes. — The market is lifeless and stocks on hand are difficult to quit at late values. We quote beat Derwents 25s to 30s per ton, sacks in. Chaff. — We catalogued about 55 tons. Stocks of prime quality are now somewhat lower, and this class met ttith improved demand to-day. Medium and light samples are still slow of sale. We quote prime oaten sheaf £2 7s 6d, good do. £2 to £2 ss, medium and light £1 10s to .£1 17s 6d per ton, sacks extr^.
