morrow morning. A tug went out from Newcastle and reports all well The Talune picked up the Perthshire on TnejddvJast oli^Norfolk Island. The captain ot the Perthshire informed the captain of the tug that lie required no further assistance ; th.3 T.ilune \v<is sufficient. She is coming along dead slow, so as not to miiku Sulne,y before d.iyhght, and H being tugged by the Perthshire's own chain cable. It was ascertained that the shait did not break in the tube. Tne en^ineeib endeavoured to repair it b\ means ot a coupling, but lb was not strong enough to stand the strain.
