6d per lOOlbs. Sheep— l62s sheep were penned. Coming after last week's over-supply they proved quite sufficient. The, bulk of the entry consisted of fair to good crossbred ewes, with t a few pens of prime but not heavy wethers. The latter sold on a par with the prices lately ruling, but for ewes a shade less had to be accepted. Best ewes sold at 15s 6d to 17s 6d, two show sheep 255, best ewes 13s 6d to 15s. • 516 lambs were penned, the greater portion being freezers. , For these competition was keen and prices ruled from 13s "to 14s, butchers' sorts from 10s to 11s. Pigs. — 'Only *28 pigs were penned, which were sold at late rates under keen competition. Wheat. — There is very little demand for wheat of any description. Northern Velvet and tuscan have most enquiry, but any sample not prime is hard to sell. Prime tuscan is quoted at 2s 3d 2s sd, prime velvet 2s 4d to 2s 6d, good milling 2s 2d to 2s 3d, fowl feed Is 8d to Is lid ; sacks in. Oats. — The demand experienced lately has almost disappeared and the market is once more dull. There is a small inquiry for milling at. Is 4d to Is sd, good feed are worth Is 2£d to Is 4d, medium Is 3d, inferior Is Id to Is 2d, sacks extra. Barley. — Malting and feed are unsaleable, and prices if quoted would be misleading. Milling is worth Is lOd to 2s.
