The annual meeting of the "Wnitaki Licensing Committee was hAA in the Courthouse on Tue^lftv. IVfyor JKeddcll presided, jmd there weid present Messrs G. Millor, G. Mutton, T. Hail, T. 'Milne and J. M.icgiegor. ■ Publican's licenses were granted to the following: — M. Middietou, S. Binnoy, Y. Dooley aod J. O'Leai-jr, Waimate ; R, Ktassal and J* O'NsiUj Kurow ; I\ Malo-i«y,
Sandhurst; J. Sullivan and A. Gilmour, Fairlie ; J.-Pringle and K.X»rr ( Duntroon ; C. Wederell, St. Andrews J. T. Bourne, Maktkthi ; J. Henderson, Glenavy ; H. E. Mann, Studholrne.. Accommodation licenses were then granted to : — H. P. Marinaton, Lake Pukaki J J; P. Eobsin, Lake Tekapo ; J). M. Millar," Durke's Pass ; J. Lawlor, SilverI stream : D. M'Ph,'rson,*Waihao Forks ; M. Mewhtnney, Eedcliif; S. Munro, Otematata ; J. Eichmond, Wharekun, lA. Boss, The Hermitage ; W. G. Munro, Gmarama. Mr S. Colk-tt was granted a wholesale licenae for for the building at the corner of High and Shearman streets. The committee agreed to the transfer of the Makikihi Hotel licence from E. Cosgrave to J. T. Bourne* Sergfc. O'Gmdy watted ou the committee to prove that J. Pickersgill, lioensee of the Georgetown Hotel, was not a fit person to have charge of an hotel. He brought witnesses to prove his charges, and the committee decided that the licensee could have three months in which to find another tenant for the hotel or else hia license would be cancelled. The Court then rose.
