Cattle.-- 160 head of fat cattle were yaided, but with the e\ceplion of a tew pens of leally pmne beei, tor which bidding was keen, the most weie unfinished steers. Best bullaeks at £6 10s to X' 7 10s, oxtia good up to £8 17s 6d. heifers .£4 15s to £6, cows £3 to JC4 17s 6d. Kboep. — 1820 fat sheep were penned. The deinane was keen and bidding lively, h'lt pi ices were not fo good as last week, ■vwuheis declining by 6d to 9d, and ewes Is to Is (3d. Best wethers sold at lb's to 17s Gd. one pen extra hea\ v 20s 3d, good 14-. to 15s 9d, pi line ewes 14s to 10s 3d, a tew oxlva up to 17s 3d, good 12s to 13s 9d. H3 8 fat lambs weie penned. Exporteis bought e\ei\ thing at high \alues; le.xll^ pnme and heav\ 11s to 12s 6d. a few extra pmne 13s 6d, butoheis 9s to 9s 9d. Pigs.— 50 pigs were penned. There was a shaip demand for all sorts Suckers sold at 9s to 14s, slips 17s to 245, poikers 27s to 365, baconers 38s to 58s. A\ heat — There id no change to lepoit in the local raaiket, and quotations, are about the same as last week, namely, 2s ''d for prime •velvet, 2s 6d for tefti, 2s ?d for ordinary, and 2s for best fowl iced. Oats are in good demand at late quoa tions, and are none too plentiful, on nig
to farm n-s holding back in preference to selling at present rates. Prime milling is quoted afc Is 4d, pnmo sparrowbills ls3Ul, good feed Is 3d, oulmary Is 2kl. Birley is hiril to sell except it is extra prime, which moves off at up to 3s 6d, the next grade being worth only 3s, ordinary 2s 4d to 2^ Bd.
