Nearly all the farmeis in this locality have now their crops in stack, of which the many __ gioups dotted heic and theie ovor the fields Rive ample evidence of a record yield. The concert in aid of the Hannaton school funds takes place much earlier this yeai. With the exception of a Punch and Judy show theie has been no entertainment here for some time. A lather lecoid ride was performed heie some weeks ago by a Hannaton boy. Having mounted with just the winkers on, and with the gate invitingly ajar, he found himself performing the quickest lide on lecord from Hannaton to Waimate. The horse evidently thinking only of a good feed and a comfortable stall never stopped until reaching that destination. The pluelj:v youug uichin complained only of the shortness of the mane, which necessitated a liberal use of his legs, Mr J. Foley is erecting a large grain shed, and Mr I'ox is alsio building.
