On Tuesday lait this itrong combina" tion op»ned ia the Oddfellows' Hall, and in spjte of counter attractions played to a, crowded house. The Sp»msh-Anjericau pictures were the chief attraction. These were splendidly reproduced, scenes such as the divers at work on the sunken wa» - ship Maine, pack mules descending a pass in Cuba, a sail round Cftdu harbour, American blue jackets landing under fire, and the bornbardinent of a forfc by American ships bemg heartily applauded. Many of the old favourites were reproduced, Faust up-to-date and fun in :i kitchen being especially well received. "While several pictures were being shown descriptive songs were sung, thus adding njuch to the interest, The company is a strong one and is sure to meet with u good reception on its ne^t visit, v/hen Mr Nofchcote intends to show some pictures of ac«nes in the late Soudan war.
