Proposed by Mr John Sinclair, and resolved—" That the seorstary write to the Commissioner of Crown Ivands re boundaries of deer-stalkmg country, and obtain all information." Perch and tench license! were made the same as last year, and the opening of shooting season to be the same as last year. Resolved, "That the South Island should arrange a close season for ducks." Mr Black remarked that the fishing bee to be held should be a general invjtation to both societies, but that in consequence of the societies deciding to send Homo the best specimens, a party should arrange to fish the I^ower Waihao, where large fish are obtainable. It was resolved to meet an the evening of January 4th, and that all arrangements to be made in Oamaru to freeze the fish, so that they may be in good condition to be aqnt to the Fisheries Exhibition to be held in London. It was decided to feqqe in the reserve at the Waifcaki pnouth, also bad parts of the rqad line leading to. it, Messrs Black and Smith to havo same erected.* the societies to divide the ooat. It was suggested by Mr Craig and carried— " That the society advertise its intention of letting the lakes for netting." It vf&s re«olved that deer-stalking licensps could he obtained from the Chief Postmaster, Qainaru. It was resolved to ssnd a letter, pf sympathy to Mr Aitken. (president of the Oamaru Society) in his. illness, aud hoping he would soon be we,U again, and that letters of thanks, be written to the IJon, J. M'J^enzie, an 4 Messrs Duncan and Steward, M.H.R.'s, for the interest they have taken jn the Socie.ty for years past, an 4 that they be appointed life numbers o,f the Society. A hearty yote of thinks was accorded to Mr Black.i for the trouble he had. taken with, the reserves, and. his devoted attention to acclimatisation matters. A vote qf thanks to. the, chair terminated the meeting. The members then visited the Waimate Society's ponds, and w.era highly pleased with, th,e arrangements.
