Ingredients. — £ brealdast cup of Gutter, 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup golden syrup, 1 egg, 1% teaspoons'fula of soda, .3 .teaspoonfuls of ' ground ginger, % teaspoonful of cinnamon - and £ mixed spice, and a piach of salt, ■ also of cayenne pepper. , Mode.--rGream.the butter and sugatf, then add the eggj beat all well > Then add ginger, cinnamon, mixed spice, salt, and cayenne pepper, put the golden syrup into a saucepan. Let it corae to a ; boil, r, Then stir the soda into the syrup, mix s all together] stir, in sufficient flour to, make l. iti 'stiff enough to roll.

of tartar ; melt the treacle at the fire until it becomes thin ; beat the eggs and sugar , "with it i and, lastly, add the other ingredients ; then roll out very thin, and bake in a hot oven. Mrs M. wants a recipe for making manual ad c . M.E.O. would like recipe for chocolate roulade. Alice would like receipe for Madeira cake.
