SALEYARDS COMPANY.

7 A meeting of intending shareholders in the proposed saleyards company was held in the Library Committee-room on Thursday evening, about 20 persons being ; present. - -

His Worship the Mayor (Mr R. Niool) was voted to the chair, and said he had before him promises of <€223. It was considered that would be quite enough to start the company. A great deal of discussion took place regarding a site, and finally it was resolved, " That C. Bryce's offer re the section near the Show Grounds be accepted, subject to the company being formed, and the lease being extended to 21 years."
