srea'der, -who about 4 o'clock in the afteriiooii saw him ,entering^the committee room and exchanged a few words "«ith him, after which Mr Larnach locked the .door. Mr .Kane., thought .that he .had locked himself in "the room to attend to correspondence. Twenty minutes Mr "R. McKenize, member for _ Motueka, tried the door 'but received no reply. When Mr Larnach did not arrive .shome at tea-time Mrs Larnach became end -made enquiries as to his .•■whereabouts from Mr Mills, one of the •Government whips, who made a search .of the buildings -and finding J-committee-•door locked had the door forced open, and the body was found as already _ stated. Mr Larnaofi' was -chairman of the Public Accounts* Gbmrnittee and a member of the Gold-fields Committee. At the meeting •of- the latter committee, j which he.attended this morning, he sat for a couple of hours speaking, and his apparent despondency was the subject of some re*mark by his fellow-committee-men. Deiceased was 60 years of age. ' At the inquest, -a 'verdict of suicide mhile temporary insane was returned.
