Mr .Kane., thought .that he .had locked himself in "the room to attend to correspondence. Twenty minutes Mr "R. McKenize, member for _ Motueka, tried the door 'but received no reply. When Mr Larnach did not arrive .shome at tea-time Mrs Larnach became end -made enquiries as to his .•■whereabouts from Mr Mills, one of the •Government whips, who made a search .of the buildings -and finding J-committee-•door locked had the door forced open, and the body was found as already _ stated. Mr Larnaofi' was -chairman of the Public Accounts* Gbmrnittee and a member of the Gold-fields Committee. At the meeting •of- the latter committee, j which he.attended this morning, he sat for a couple of hours speaking, and his apparent despondency was the subject of some re*mark by his fellow-committee-men. Deiceased was 60 years of age. ' At the inquest, -a 'verdict of suicide mhile temporary insane was returned.
