DUNEDIN MARKETS. Dunedin, Sept. 23.

CATTLE. 195 head of fat cattle were yarded, Prime sorts were scarce, the bulk of the ■ entry consisting of half -finished animals. Prices for anything prime remained at about last week's level, and other sorts were somewhat easier. Prime bullocks brought £8 10s to .£lO, good do. .£6 15s to £8, medium £6 to £7 10s, light £2 10s to £5, prune cows and heifers £6 10s to £7 17s 6d, good £5 5s to £6, light .and in•ferior £2 10s to M.

SHEEP. 3478 fat sheep -were -penned, a 'large proportion being half-fat wethers. Prices ■showed a declina of 6d per head for all prime lines, and quite Is for unfinished sorts. Prime crossbred wethers sold at 14s to 16s 3d, good -do lls 6d to 13s 6d, light 8s to lls. In fat lambs 18 were penned , the first seen in the yard this teason. There was keen competition at from 10s to 15s 6d.

PIGS. 90 pigs were penned. There was aia exceedingly good sale, and had there ■Leen double the number, prices would have remained the same. Sucliers sold at 11s 6d to 16s, slips 48s to 20s, stores 23s to 28s, porkers 29s to 38s 6d, ibaconers 44s to 595.

GKUN. "Wheat. — During the week there has been & little niore inquiry, and as in the north prices have improved somewhat, there is likely to be an advance here for southern grown grain. Prime tuscan and red sorts are quoted at 8s lid to 4s, prime velvets 4s to 4s Id, medium tuscan 3s 9d to 3s 10* d, do. velvet 3s lOd to 3s lid, chick wheat 2s 9d to 3s 2d per bushel (off truck» Dunedin, sacks in ; terms). Oats. — There is a good inquiry, with a fair amount. of business in shipping lines for good to medium quality. These remain firm. Good to best feed is quoted at 2s Id to 2s 2d, fair to medium 2s to 2s 'Oid, discoloured and inferior Is 9d to Is lid, milling 2s 3d to 25. 5 d per bushel (sacks extra, net). Barley. — The market continues somewhat lifeless. Prime malting is quoted at 4s 9d to 5s Id, fair to medium 4s 3d to -4s Bd, feed and milling 2s 6d to 3s 6d per .(sacks extra, net.).
