CORRESPONDENCE.

opinion* .are not necessarily -ours.

(to the editor.) Sntj — I noticed a letter signed " Only a "Woman" in your last issue attacking the .Borough -vCouncil ..about putting shingle on "the footpaths,-andthen going on to say Jjhat if there were a few women councillors thing! would improve. For my part, I think Waimate has good footpaths, and thatthe Borough Councillors do their work well enough. But .some folks step in where angels fear to tread, and »>woman ,to begin to talk of managing the butiness of the Borough-Council is a good joke,. If theiwoman who is so anxious to get into the Council hasa home to manage and 'does it, she will have plenty to do. I am only « woman And I have a home to look after, and it keeps me quite employed. I think what makes «o many women complain of their husbands spending so much of their time away from home is that the home is not •what it ought to be. And who is to blame for that but the woman. 'How on earth is a rwoman to attend to her home if she is managing the Borough Council and things of thai sort. I think if the women did their own work and let the men do likewise everything would go on better. Hoping you will find room for this in your much esteemed paper, I am, etc., Onm Anotejir Woman. .
