DUNEDIN MARKETS. Dunedin, Sept. 14.

CATILE. 170 head of fat cattle were yarded. Prime 4501 fs were again scarce, and a large proportion of the entry consisting of half -finished •.sorts, owing to several of the large butchers having purchased supples in the countiy, was not keen at last week, and .prices suffered a decline of about 10s per head. Prime bullocks brought up to £10, good do. £7 to £8, medium £6 to £7, light .and unfinished £3 10s to £5 10s, cows and heifers £6 10s to £8 10s, good £5 10s to £6, Jight and inferior £2 10s to £4 10s.

SHEEP. 3650 fat sheep weie penned. There were tseveial export buyers in the maiket, and all rwethers suitable freezing sold at a slight advance on last week's rates. -Other soits remained unchanged. Prime crossbred wetheis sold at 14s to 16s 3d, good do. 12s 6d to 13s ,6d, light 9s.

PIGS. 73 pigs were penned, and there was a splendid sale for all descriptions. Suckeis .Bold at 8s 6d to 12s, slips 14s to 17s, stoieß 21« to 28s, poikeis 31s to 41s, baconers 44s .to 555, big pigs 69s to 80s.

&RAIS. Wheat. — The market still remains lifeless. There is but little business tia«isacted and •the few lines going through "are chiefly prime northern-grown for blending puiposes. Prime tusc&n and red sorts are quoted at 3s lid to 4s, prime velvet 4s to 4s Id, medium tuscan • Ss 9d-to 3s 10£ d, do velvet 3s lOd to 3s lid, chick wheat 2s 9d to 3s 2d per bushel (oil' trucks Dunedin, sacks in ; terms). Oats. — The demand continues good. The ■business passing is almost entirely confined to shipping lines of medium quality. There is good inquiry for duns, but tartais and Danish somewhat neglected and difficult to place at present values. Good to best feed are quoted at 2s l^d to 2s 2£d, fair to medium 2s OJd to 2s Id, discoloured and inferior Is 9d to 2s, milling 2s 3d to 2s 5d per bushel .{sacks extra, net). Barley is unchanged.
