TO THE BDITOB. Sir, — I read your leader on the above subject, and hoped that ere this some steps would have been taken to establish a political union on the lines laid down by you, and it seWhs to me that criminal negligence is 'the fitting
rterm to apply to the older members of the community who, to my mind, are perfectly satisfied to plod along their own tiack, content c to let the rising generation get their political education -as best they can. I submit thftt'With the political tools at our disposal we in New Zealand have it in our power to make the colony a paradise, but, as you say, the knowledge of how to use the tools is •what i« wanted.
