Daiey FACTORY.-'-Mr H. Whyte, dairy expert, was in town on Thursday and With two of the shaieholdeis visited the factory and made a valuation of the present contents and the amount requir ed to put the factory in proper working order. It is probable that next spring Waimate will sport a dairy fac^ tory of its own.

Saroiis Concert. — At a meeting of the oom-i mittee re farewell to Mr H. E. Mann, held last night it was decided to make a presentation at a smoke concert to be held in the Librarj Hall on Thursday next, The Waisiate Footba£l Cirfß has begun its season very well by beating the Waihi Club last Tuesday, and if the players will now pull together the senior cup for 1 '98 should, 1 come to Waimate. The match which took ' place at Winchester was played amidst a perfect dowpour of rain.
