VIA PANAMA, AT WELLINGTON.
* Wellington, Nov. 22. The Royal Mail steamship Mataura, G. E. Bird, R.N.R., commander, arrived in Port Nicholson, this day, at five a.m. bringing English and American mails. Left Panama on the 24tU October, had fine weather till November 15, since when she experienced a succession of heavy gales, sea running very high. Passed Opara without calling in on the 10th. Sighted two vessels, supposed to be whalers. Nothing particular occurred during the voyage. All passengers well.
