BEACH PROTECTION.
TO THE EDITOE OF THE WEST COAST TIMES. Sir — Having observed the increasing encroachments of the sea on the beach, N the question forced upon us is, as to what would be the best means to be taken to promptly meet the exigency. I would suggest that a premium of, say fifty pounds, be offered for the best and most practical suggestions on the subject. In such a community as ours there are' no doubt several men of great practical experience who would offer valuable suggestions ; and it is high time some most efficient work was carried out Should wo not avail ourselves of the best engineering skill for the protection of the town properties ? I am, Sir, yours, &c, Vutob.
