The " Argus" of Saturday last reports : — The business of the past week hus been marked by tho quietness that we have had to report for some time past. The heavy fresh in the river having materially interfered with tho transit of goods inland by the boats and coastwise, there has beon little doing. On tho return of more sjttled weather wo may reasonably look forward to more activity in trade generally. The prices of nearly nil leading articles are without change. The cargoes of tho Sea Flower and Florence were sold at auction yesterday by Messrs D. Maclean and Co., when tho following rates were realised :—: — Potatoes, Ul 15s to L 8 2s Gil ; oats, 3s 2d to 3s od ; bran, Is 4d ; butter, Is 2d ; and Canterbury bacon, lOd.
