The rules of the Canterbury Jockey Club will be enforced, unless when otherwise specified. 2. Mares and Geldings allowed 3 lbs, but no Maiden allowance. 3. All entries and nominations to be handed to the Stewards, at Osborne's Empire Hotel, previous to 9 p.m. on 23rd December. 4. All entries must be in writing, specifying age, and description of horse, and color of rider ; and contain requisite entrance mone}'. 5. All horses must be ridden in colors. 6. In all matters connected with tho races, or any disputes, the decision of the Stewards to bo final. 7. Any dogs on the Course will be destroyed. 8. All Stakes paid less 5 per cent. 9. A qualification fee must be paid by each owner that enters, or nominates a horse or horses, on the following scale, viz., for one or more events, under 50 soys, 2 soys ; for 50 soys, 3 soys ; for 100 soys or over, 4 soys. But the said fees not to be accumulative. Subscribers of 4 or more soys, are not required to pay any fee for qualification. N.B. In case of unfavorable weather, tho Stewards have the power to postpone tho races from day to day, whethor tho meeting bo absolutely commenced or not. EICHARD EEEVES, Secretary. P.S.
